Anyone know of treatment for Rosacea. It seemed to appear over night and the?

treaments suggested by the doctors has not worked and it appears to be getting worse. I have a good skin care regime and use a regular cleanser instead of soap and water.

I would be grateful for any help as I'm becoming very self concious about it as it has now become very noticableAnyone know of treatment for Rosacea. It seemed to appear over night and the?
Hi.

The standard antibiotic creams for rosacea are very effective either orally ( a tetracycline) or topically ( metronidazole).

The do not however ';cure'; the conditon - so prolonged treatment may be needed.

If you have not yet had oral antibiotics then ask your Dr for a prescription.

If that fails to work then you need to consider that the diagnosis is not correct - ask for a second opinion or for a referral to a dermatologist.

look @ this site all r no chmical %26amp; hav worked!natureswondersoyessentials.com simply smelly goods!! sometime u need to get away fm chemicals. this has worked for different skin condtions %26amp; like urs. they do candles but hav more.
Have you ever tried any products from Arbonne? I only ask as a friend started to use the Intelligence line and has said it's the only thing that has helped calm her Rosacea. I also know someone who said that the baby line they carry is the only cure for her Rosacea. Worth mentioning.
Use the most gentle skin care products you can . Cut down (or cut out) caffeine . Eat fruit and veg with orange flesh eg mango, apricot, squash.
Try taking a Vitamin B Complex supplement. B Vitamins help keep the skin healthy. Also, Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) deficiency in particular, has been linked to acne rosacea.

Another supplement worth trying is Evening Primrose Oil, the active constituent, GLA has anti-inflammatory properties and can help with inflammatory conditions such as acne rosacea.

Zinc will also help (15mg, preferably with copper) all skin conditions.

Also, it you can get hold of a marigold (Calendula officinalis) cream or a german camomile (Matricaria chamomilla) cream, or a Bach flower remedies cream it might help. Camomile and marigold both have soothing anti-inflammatory properties. And the Bach original flower remedies Rescue Cream has been known to help with some inflammatory skin conditions.

You can read about this cream here:

Another one is 'Golden Camomile' (chrysanthellum indicum). A cream containing an extract of this plant has been shown to be effective in clinical trials of patients with acne rosacea.

Here is a Rosacea Blog that it might be worth joining for tips from people that have Rosacea.

Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Also: Demodex mites have also been implicated in rosacea. Getting a doctors assessment on this would be a good idea as treatment might need to follow a different course if demodex mites are involved.

There are some natural creams also for acne rosacea linked to demodex mites:

IPL laser treatment for rosacea?

I have rosacea and I was wondering if anyone has tried IPL laser treatments to solve this problem. If so, I wish to know if it worked, how many treatments it took, how much it cost, and what type of lasers were used. I live near Beverly Hills so I can pretty much get any treatment done, but I want to know what works and I trust patients ten times more than doctors! Any suggestions?IPL laser treatment for rosacea?
I am a licensed Medical Aesthetician who suffered from rosacea for years and have received about five Intense Pulse Light treatments. Not only did it work incredibly well to where I finally felt confident enough to going out in public without a ton of makeup, but it improved my skin's texture as well. I work for a plastic surgeon who purchased an IPL three years ago and I became the primary operator of the IPL and have seen many clients suffering from rosacea have their skin turn from ruddy red to calm and clear with IPL. Depending on how severe your case is will depend on how many treatments you will need but expect no less than three to be wowed by the results. The IPL I use in my work is made by Syneron. You can go to Syneron.com for more info. Good Luck!IPL laser treatment for rosacea?
Rosacea is a common skin condition that affects many Americans, but it can also spread to the eyes and cause a constant gritty, burning sensation. I have dry skin and have fought with rosacea all my life. I have been in search a product that works on my skin, I am now 37 and I finally found it. I use the ZENMED Skin Support System - Dry Skin and I saw results in days! I recommend it to anyone who has suffered through various dermatologist prescribed

Reasonably priced and very effective acne solution Reasonably priced and very effective acne solution. I used to have an acne before when i was in college and it really makes me inferior every time I'm in a group of people. I read a review about Zenmed on one of the skin care product site, after reading positive review of users who use it I bought ZenMed Derma Cleanse System. Previously I鈥檝e tried everything from prescriptions to herbal teas. After using Zenmed products there has been a huge improvement in my skin. friends and family have all commented on my complexion and it鈥檚 given me a spring in my step and confidence I haven鈥檛 felt in years. and I am VERY happy with the results so far.! If you are looking for acne solutions, I recommend to go for ZENMED Derma Cleanse System.

Does anyone know of a natural, non-prescription treatment or cure for rosacea?

Try an anti-inflammatory diet. There are some great books out there you can look at. Dr. Nicholas Perricone has a few books on skin care. Maybe you can consult a holistic doctor in your area and they may have some natural remedies. You can also try www.puremedspa.com They use photofacials for rosecea.

What is a good topical treatment for rosacea?

Hi Frances

A product called Eyebright (herbs) helped a friend of mine fix her issue with Rosacea within in a week. It stings a bit, but it cleans the eyes out. Ive used the product myself for cleansing out my eyes in general. It's at herbdoc.com. Im not promoting a product here Im giving you a real answer. Read about it there.

Best of health to youWhat is a good topical treatment for rosacea?
ask your G.P. or have him refer you to a dermatologist, k?What is a good topical treatment for rosacea?
In my experience, there really isn't one. I have found a good face wash and a nice, light sunscreen (Aveeno Ultra Calming) that helps some, but all in all, best thing is to avoid the sun and eat right.

Out: soft drinks, alcohol, fatty foods, anything spicy, stress, the sun, hot showers, pizza (ouch!).

In: Omega-3-rich foods, strawberries, blueberries, certain nuts, whole grains, and water, water water.
there are perscriptions out there, but if you do not have acess to them, try a product called ';Smashbox Photo Finish'; in Green.... It is almost like a light oil free chapstick for your face. I is ina liquid form and tames red without making you look gray... Very light and also sets your base makeup for longer wear.... It is AWESOME. I just bought it yesterday and used it today. I got 3 compliments on my face...... I hope I helped.

Hi,

Topical treatment is not advisable for skin complaints. You will have to take medicines internally to get rid of it .As a general management, wash your face regularly with cold water and mild soap.

  • Has anyone had facial IPL laser treatment for rosacea?

If so, how does your skin look and feel immediatly after the treatment? If female, are you able to apply makeup before going home? How many treatments did you have to have? After all treatments were finished, how does your face look now compared to beginning the first treatment? Serious answers only...Has anyone had facial IPL laser treatment for rosacea?
I only get the IPL treatments to get rid of the broken blood vessels that result from rosacea. Granted, my case is somewhat mild (redness only). Now I do get GENTLE microdermabrasions on a fairly regular basis; while not a good idea for full-blown rosacea, I find it does help with the redness and I love how my skin feels afterwards. I am male, so I can't answer the makeup question, but wouldn't think you would want to apply any for a day or so afterwards. My esthetician puts on a good moisturizer afterwards, and says the skin more readily absorbs it at that point. I also am told to avoid sun exposure for a day or so afterwards (even more than normal).

The place I go also offers rosacea facials, which I get a few times a year; a little slice of heaven right there.

Before I opine any more, I would like to ask a few questions of you, if you don't mind:

Will you be going to a doctor or a spa/skin care

center? Also, how is your rosacea (mild, medium, etc)? I am going in for another microderm on 2-9-07, so I could ask some questions about IPL when I'm there and report back to you, if you would like.Has anyone had facial IPL laser treatment for rosacea?
I think you should try a systemic approach before treating rosacea with a laser. I had rosacea and cured it through good nutrition and avoiding all foods that contain refined sugar. Daily supplements of chromium picolinate also helped. And crushed raw garlic added to food after it is cooked. The idea is to get your blood sugar stabilized at a low level, so that the bacteria which cause rosacea cannot thrive in your skin.

Does accutane help in the treatment of rosacea??

Yes it does. Accutane decreases your pore size and completely destroys the top layer of your skin so any bacteria that has formed on it is vanished once the new skin grows back.

http://www.rosacea.co.uk/blog/Does accutane help in the treatment of rosacea??
It can, yes, but it is typically reserved for very resistant cases of rosacea where other treatments have failed, and the patient has extremely oily skin -- and where rhinophyma is a potential concern. In these cases, a dermatologist will sometimes prescribe low-dose Accutane to help control the inflammation and redness of rosacea.Does accutane help in the treatment of rosacea??
It may help to dull the burning of rosacea.

Laser skin treatment for rosacea (on the face). Has anyone had it? Does it hurt? Did it work?

I had it and it worked WONDERS!!! It stings when the laser flashes, but that's it. I had about 4 treatments which cost $140 each.

Depending on which type of rosacea you have will determine if it's helpful. I had the kind where my nose was red all the time and had occasional deep pimples. Now my nose is normal, for the first time in my life, and I'm 53. The only thing I do now is take one minocycline in the morning and put avar on my nose once a day - that's it.

For me, it was a miracle!

    edit:

standard treatment for rosacea without laser is antibiotics, creams (metrogel - but did nothing for me), watching your diet - looking for triggers that cause flushing etc. Truly, my life was miserable for 30 years. I remember getting my red nose when I was only 13. I finally went to my first dermatologist at 19 and he was shocked that I had it so young. If you can only get one laser treatment, do it. It will help tremendously.Laser skin treatment for rosacea (on the face). Has anyone had it? Does it hurt? Did it work?
My Rosacea is the worse its ever been but i couldnt afford laser treatment any other sugestions thanks
